STD rates are on the rise in communities throughout Santa Clara County, including Cupertino, CA.

In fact, chlamydia rates rose from 6,990 reported cases in 2016 to 7,669 reported cases in 2017. Syphilis rates (all stages) also rose as the number of reported cases increased from 573 reported cases in 2016 to 634 reported cases in 2017.
According to Santa Clara County’s HIV Epidemiology Report of 2017, there were 6,357 county residents living with HIV as of December 31, 2017. Out of these cases, 156 were newly reported HIV cases in 2017.

The Billy DeFrank Community Center was started in 1981 in southern San Jose.
