According to Contra Costa Health, between 2005-2007, the county recorded 9,323 new cases of chlamydia with a rate of 300.3 per 100,000 populations. Individuals of age 15-19 years accounted for 35.3% of these cases, while 32.5% occurred among 20-24-year-olds.
Another CDC STD Analysis report showed that the county recorded 6,708 incidences of syphilis in 2017 (rate – 17.1), and 1,760 cases of gonorrhea with a rate of 155.0.
