Snohomish County reported 49 HIV infections at a rate of 24 per 100,000 individuals in 2016. This was an increase from 2015 which reported 40 cases at a rate of 20.4 per 100,000 people.
Gonorrhea infections were 196 at a rate of 17.1 per 100,000 individuals in 2012. In 2013, the infections jacked up to 251 at a rate of 34.4. Male infections were 142 at a rate of 38.8 per 100,000 individuals while females had 109 cases at a rate of 29.9 per 100,000 individuals.
Chlamydia infections remained constant in 2012 and 2013 with 1880 infections at a rate of 257.4 per 100,000 individuals. Females reported the majority infections with 1336 cases at a rate of 366.6 per 100,000 and 544 infections at a rate of 148.6 per 100,000 people in 2013.
Syphilis reported the minority of infections in 2013 with 13 cases at a rate of 1.8 per 100,000 people. Male infections were 12 at a rate of 3.3 per 100,000 whereas only 1 infection at a rate of 0.3 per 100,000 were recorded for females.
The Snohomish Health District developed a Sexually Transmitted Disease Program which is an initiative to help fight the spread of STD/HIV. It offers STD testing and treatment as well as guidance and counseling.
Residents may visit Planned Parenthood Everett Health Center and Snohomish Health District where they may access STD testing. Other available options are Skagit Valley Hospital and Evergreen Wellness Advocates.
