Locally referred to as Gansett, Narragansett, RI, is a town in Washington County. The county’s HIV infection surveillance team concluded a downward development in the rate at which new HIV infections occurred between 2019 and 2020.
In 2019, new HIV cases were reported at a rate of 71 per 100,000 persons, whereas, in 2020, the rate of infection was 52 in every group of 100,000 individuals.

They attribute this success to their strict adherence to state-funded programs such as the jurisdictional HIV prevention plan that aims to improve community engagement during the prevention planning process and develop early intervention programs for existing cases to reduce mortality and morbidity.
