Claiborne is a census-designated place and an unincorporated community in Ouachita Parish. The parish recorded the highest number of new HIV cases throughout the Region Eight health district.
However, new infections reported in the county reduced from 37 in 2016 to 23 in 2018.

New HIV cases in Ouachita Parish have dropped significantly between 2016 and 2018, partly because of interventions proposed in the State of Louisiana 2017 – 2021 HIV/AIDS Strategy for Prevention, Treatment, and Care Services.
