Over the past few years, the HIV prevalence rate in Union County, where Clark, NJ, is a township, has fluctuated, decreasing by 11.6% from 2,859 to 2,528 in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The number of new HIV infections recorded in 2020 prevailed at a rate of 2,551 per 100,000 individuals.
Chlamydia infections in the township tripled from 15 cases reported in 2013 to 42 in 2018. Mitigation measures put in place by the New Jersey Department of Health helped reduce infections by half in the following year to 22.
