Mahomet is a village in Champaign County. Between 2018 and 2020, public health officials in the county recorded a fluctuating number of new HIV infections. In 2018, they reported 18 diagnoses, which dropped to 14 the following year. The number of new HIV cases rose to 21 in the last year of reference.
The same trend was evident in the number of new Chlamydia infections recorded within the same time frame.
