Anne Arundel County, home to Riviera Beach, a census-designated place, recorded an HIV infection rate of 1,378 per 100,000 population in 2019. Anne Arundel County has had a steady rise in STI rates, primarily amongst persons aged between 15 to 24 years. To reduce the high rates of infections, the Anne Arundel County Department of Health’s HIV/STD Prevention and Care Program has implemented new strategies targeting the younger population. These include improving access to comprehensive care, STD education and counseling services, annual STD testing initiatives for high-risk populations, and condoms in designated areas within the county.
