Studies show that counties, such as Lake County and Cook County, are seeing a rise in STD rates, including gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis.
Illinois state health records show that Lake County, which encompasses most of Buffalo Grove, IL, saw an increase in the number of STD rates.
