Primary and secondary syphilis infections came in last, with 30 cases documented at a rate of 4.3 in every 100,000 population. The next year had a slight decline to 28 with an occurrence rate of 4.0 per 100,000 persons.
Lake County has an STI/HIV program that offers comprehensive care and prevention services for at-risk individuals in the community. It delivers clinical services for STDs, HIV counseling and testing, and treatments to individuals diagnosed with an STD.
